Smith Equities Corporation (SEC), which specializes in the sale and financing of apartment complexes and hotels/motels throughout the state of Florida, recently welcomed, Robert T. (Bob) Newsome, to bring additional expertise and experience to the company. With the addition of Newsome, SEC now offers a complete myriad of services for owners of multifamily housing and hotels/motels. Robert T. (Bob) Newsome, President and co-founder of Business Insurance Center and a licensed real estate agent, has relocated his office to downtown Orlando in order to leverage his services with those of SEC. According to Newsome, "I saw an opportunity to partner with SEC and provide comprehensive insurance and real estate services for apartment and hotel owners resulting in economical benefits for all parties. Our clients will not only save on all facets of their insurance premiums, including property/casualty, worker's compensation, health, cafeteria plans, etc., but we can also provide them with real estate brokerage and mortgage services."

In addition to being a seasoned insurance professional, Mr. Newsome has extensive knowledge of the hotel industry through management and operations of family owned, Sea-Aire Motel, in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Education:

Mr. Newsome attended Florida State University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and later completed graduate level courses at the University of Central Florida.

Licences:

Mr. Newsome is a licensed multi-faceted agent, specializing in commercial insurance such as property, liability and worker's compensation. He obtained his State of Florida Life, Health & Annuity License and his 220-Property Casual License in 1992. In December, 1998, he obtained his Florida Real Estate Salesperson's License.

Insurance Experience:

Robert T. Newsome,Jr., President and co-founder of Business Insurance Center, Inc. has recently relocated and expanded his office in downtown Orlando, Florida. Mr. Newsome joined the Robert T. Newsome Insurance Agency in 1992 as an associate agent for Nationwide Insurance. He has been involved in insurance for more than seven years and has made significant contributions to an office generating more than $3 million in annual premiums. His accomplishments include being the recipient of several awards, including the Quarterly Life Insurance Agent Award and Salesperson of the Month Award.

In addition to increasing his portfolio by more than 25% each year, Mr. Newsome has also managed a satellite office for the past two years.

Personal:

Bob is married and has an 8-month old daughter. As a Certified USPTR Tennis Professional, Bob can be found teaching tennis lessons when he is not selling insurance. He is an exercise enthusiast and recently ran his first marathon to raise money for the Leukemia Society. He also is an active member of First Baptist Church-Orlando and enjoys boating, water sports and snow skiing.
